Old World Mansion

Langka and Zack Treadwell bought a dingy gray house with splendid bones - originally designed by Philadelphia's leading 19th century architect, Frank Furness. Blessed with both imagination and determination, the bride committed herself to total rehabilitation and decoration, all to be completed within just four months. Mrs. Treadwell hired Millett Design. The firm repaired and redesigned the entire building on time, on budget.

While honoring the historic structure, Millett managed to fill all 18 rooms with brilliant light, contemporary colors, and avant-garde furniture suitable to the couple's lifestyle.

Upon completion, the client discovered that the whole project had in fact revolved around her own ideas: "Caroline has the ability to truly understand the client's personal vision. She encourages each individual to express himself or herself creatively throughout the personal environment, reminding the client that the Human Being is intrinsically the most important element of the home."
