Bonde Residence

An accomplished landscape painter, Countess Clarissa Bonde teaches at Washington's Corcoran Gallery of Art. She and Caroline Millett are both advocates of the "Narrative Style" - which means, simply stated, telling your own story in your own home. Here are two photographs of the Bonde residence in Washington, D.C.

living room

The first reveals three generations of Bondes - grandmother, dressed in red in the Swedish family castle, a portrait of the young Countess Clarissa, and her twin daughters. Although their drawing room is filled with antique treasures from Sweden, this relaxed space is so friendly and comfortable that the entire family uses it on a daily basis.

studio

The second photo, the home studio, reveals the artist at work.
