Selected ProjectWork in Historic PreservationAs Marciarose Shestack mentioned in her reference, Millett was honored by the Preservation Alliance of Greater Philadelphia as a premier historic preservation designer. Beginning in Sao Paulo, Brazil, she coordinated the renovation of a 19th century mansion into a Brazilian American Binational Center. Then, over a decade in Washington, DC, she had wide-ranging experiences in this field. As Washington Attorney Irene Lindner (see attached reference) explained it, “Caroline Millett is a visionary, evidenced by her early commitment to sensitive design and renovation of a dozen properties in Washington’s Logan Circle. She was on the forefront of the extensive rehabilitation of this area’s derelict Victorian residences, which are now highly desirable properties.” Concurrently Millett served as the Department of State’s representative to the National Trust, and as State’s delegate to the President’s Advisory Council on Historic Preservation.
